Advancement – Level has two meanings in Rise of Immortals:
Persistent Level
The persistent level is earned by playing multiple games. Persistent level determines how many talent points you have to spend, how many and what type of Artifacts you can equip, and who you can be grouped with when queuing for games. As its name implies, persistent level is never removed – you keep it forever. Each immortal on your account gains persistent levels individually. Persistent levels are gained by playing games – you earn experience by completing games of any type except practice, and you gain points whether you win or lose the game (though you will gain less when you lose). Persistent level caps at 50.
Tactical Level
Tactical level is a measure of progress within a single battle. Your tactical level determines how many ability level upgrade points you can spend and when Ultimate and Signature abilities unlock. In addition, your tactical level determines your base max health, health regen, max mana, mana regen, base weapon damage and base weapon attack speed. Tactical levels are gained by killing enemy immortals, creeps, structures and neutral creatures within a tactical battle map. Tactical level caps at 20.
Veterancy Advancement
During any game session, players will earn veterancy advancement and gold by defeating opponents. Gold can be spent for item enhancements and ability upgrades that augments their power, while new veterancy levels increase the immortal's overall stats and provide ability points used to unlock and level abilities.
In addition to veterancy rank, the teams' base will also level in power as time goes by. Each new base rank increases turret and minion strength. At the end of a game session, both teams will be awarded Prestige points and experience with the winning team gaining a bonus for their victory.
